Moews 400 Plus is a 40 clone synthetic variety selected from 15 different populations in Wisconsin and Illinois. Selection was based on increased root size, crown rot resistance, traffic/compaction tolerance, increased winter survival, yield, quality, dark geen coor, digestibiliy, resistance to leaf hopper yellowing an dfreedom from leaf spots. Moews 400 Plus is adapted to the Mid West and North Central region of the U.S.

Plant selection was made for increased digestibility, leafiness and dark green color, to insure optimal forage quality for the dairy market.

Moews 400 Plus has high seedling resistance to Phytophthora and Aphanomyces root rots to give added protection from wet spring conditions. This variety has high resistance to all the major alfalfa diseases and a perfect Disease Severity Index of 30/30.

Here's an extremely uniform Red Clover with tremendous yielding power. 899 is ideal for pasture, silage, green chop or plowdown the first or second crop year. It has a greater carryover factor the second cutting year than other ordinary red clovers. 899 weathers well through the winter, gives you good production the second year.
